Parapet, Chimney & Flashing Repair in Pittsburgh, PA
Most flat roof leaks in Pittsburgh start where the roof meets brick. A parapet wall, a chimney, a party wall or the wall of the house above a porch all need flashing: membrane turned up the wall, covered by a counter-flashing that is set into a mortar joint or capped by coping. When the mortar opens up, the coping shifts, or the counter-flashing pulls out of the joint, water gets in above the roof entirely and runs down inside the wall. Adding more membrane on the roof won't stop that. We check the wall as well as the roof, and fix whichever is failing: new base flashing, new counter-flashing cut into the brick, repointing, or reset coping.

Leaking right now? Protect the inside first
Move belongings away from the drip, shut off power to any wet light fixture, and stay off the roof in a storm or on ice. Then request service: an active leak can usually be dried in until the permanent repair.
Parapet & Flashing Repair — FAQs
Water is getting into the wall through mortar, coping or a failed counter-flashing, then running down inside. The fix is in the masonry.
Metal or membrane set into a mortar joint that covers the top of the roof's base flashing, so water can't run behind it.
The repointing and coping work directly tied to the roof, yes. Larger masonry rebuilds go to a mason, and we'll say so.
Most run about $300–$1,800, more for long parapet runs. See the cost guide.
